LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - The man who was once the prime suspect in the disappearance of a teen girl in the Lafayette area has been released from jail.
Leon Wilkerson of Zachary is once again a free man after he was let go without bail and all charges against him were dropped.
He was suspected in the disappearance of Keiosha Felix, 15, of Duson.
Wilkerson was charged with kidnapping and raping her in late July.
Detectives do believe the teen is still alive.
Deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office are now investigating a possible "communication" from Felix.
It's not clear exactly what kind of communication that is.
