SU Faculty Senate calling for a "No Confidence" vote

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Southern University Faculty Senate President Thomas Miller is calling for a "No Confidence" vote of the Faculty Senate Friday morning at a regularly scheduled meeting.

Miller says in his resolution that the Southern system's President Ronald Mason is micro-managing the five universities to the detriment of the schools.

In the resolution it states "Be it resolved, that the faculty senate at SUBR emphatically assert our no confidence in President Ronald Mason, Jr. as President of the Southern University System."

President Mason responded to that by saying "I see no indication at all of violations of the Board of Supervisors' bylaws, the Constitution of the State of Louisiana, SACS standards, or the NCAA rules."

Mason is talking to WAFB-TV this afternoon. Hear his statement tonight on WAFB 9News at 5 and 6.
