Crews dig relief channel at Lake Tangipahoa dam

PIKE COUNTY, MS (WAFB) - The dam at Lake Tangipahoa in Mississippi is getting closer to being stabilized.

Crews are working 24/7 to dig a relief channel there.

When it's finished, the channel will be about 600 feet long and 40 feet deep.

Crews have already drained enough water from the lake to prevent any down-river threat, but now they must repair the damage that came along with Hurricane Isaac.
