PIERRE PART, LA (WAFB) -
Authorities
said a tip helped them catch a suspected meth delivery guy Friday.
Tommy
Donati II, 30, of Berwick was arrested in the Belle River area.
He was
booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on possession with intent to
distribute methamphetamine and resisting an officer.
Bond has
not been set.
The
Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office said a confidential informant contacted a
narcotics agent with information about a man bringing a large amount of crystal
meth to the area.
The vehicle
was described as an older model Chevrolet extended cab truck.
Investigators
set up surveillance in the area and saw a truck fitting that description pull
into the parking lot of a car wash.
Deputies
said he started cussing when they approached, refused to give them his
identification and ran when they tried to pat him down for safety.
They
reported he was quickly caught. Agents said Donati had five clear bags with "chunks"
of suspected crystal meth. They later confirmed it was six grams worth of the
drug.
Deputies
said during his arrest, Donati told them he would "take his lick"
because he was "only bringing the crystal meth to sell to a friend."
