FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) -
Michelle Mockbee, 42, was murdered the morning of May 29 shortly after arriving at work at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Florence. She was in the human resources department at a business that has some 50,000 employees worldwide.
Since then, the Boone County Sheriff's Office has not released any information about the details of the murder. No arrest has been made and there's no word on whether there have been any developments in the case.
Mockbee had worked there for 16 years, along with her husband, Dan. They have two girls who attend Beechwood Elementary and live in Fort Mitchell. Wednesday night, Blessed Sacrament Church, which is located a short distance from the Mockbee's home, held a candlelight vigil. The vigil started at 8:30 p.m. outside the church, then moved into the sanctuary, then resumed back outside.
"Friends of the Mockbee family contacted us and asked to hold a vigil so that the husband and children can get some closure. It's been three months since the murder occurred and they need to start to move forward," said Jim Bayne, a deacon at Blessed Sacrament.
