It's that time of year again when all of us need to be reminded to slow down through neighborhoods and around schools. School zones are posted for 20 miles-per-hour weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

But, it's important to be extra cautious around schools all day long. Many young people are involved in extra curricular activities that keep them around campus long after the official 4 p.m. ending of school zones.

And, since it may have been several months since you've shared the road with school buses, remember buses make frequent stops with many drivers handling multiple routes. It is illegal to pass a school bus while students are boarding or exiting.

Traffic laws regarding school zone speeds and conduct around school buses are strictly enforced. Help keep our future leaders safe. Watch for students waiting for the bus in neighborhoods and around schools!!
