BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man already in jail for a kidnapping and rape that happened last month is facing more charges after a DNA match linked him to a rape more than a decade ago.

Michael Rushing, 48, has been charged with kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl back in June of 2000.

According to reports, Rushing allegedly grabbed the girl while she was walking in her neighborhood at night, forced her into a truck and blindfolded her.  He then allegedly took her to a home and raped her before returning her to her neighborhood.

Rushing has been charged with second degree kidnapping and forcible rape.

He is facing charges stemming from a from a July 27th incident in which a woman was kidnapped at gunpoint from a parking lot on Hennessey Blvd., taken to a wooded area in Iberville Parish, raped, then dropped off at a McDonald's on Nicholson Dr.

Detectives say Rushing told the victim details about his personal life that led authorities back to him.

He has been charged with aggravated rape and second degree kidnapping for the 2012 kidnapping.
