Remembering the Battle of Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - This weekend is the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Baton Rouge, and there's an event to remember the history.

The foundation for historical Louisiana invites you to remember the battle Saturday at Magnolia Cemetery. A Civil War historian will present the story of Henry Watkins Allen, a soldier who later became Louisiana Governor. You'll sit under the beautiful ancient oaks in the cemetery, the very ones present when soldiers fought among the tombstones.

The program will feature Civil War historian Richard Holloway at 10 am, in Magnolia Cemetery. Admission is free.
