Four new West Nile virus cases confirmed in Louisiana

State officials are confirming four new cases of West Nile virus, including a person in East Baton Rouge Parish.

The other cases are from West Baton Rouge, St. Tammany and Bossier Parishes.

Symptoms for West Nile can range from neuroinvasive, when the brain or spinal swelling can threaten your life, to illness that does not feel serious at all.

Health officials say there are now 14 cases statewide since the first of the year.
