Steve Spurrier and his South Carolina team started SEC Media Days with the "S" word.... "Swagger".
All four representatives South Carolina brought have "S" names, with DB DJ Swearinger starting things off by proclaiming the Gamecocks to be on the same level with LSU and Alabama, which were #1 & #2 in the nation when they played for the BCS Championship.
WR Ace Sanders says Spurrier's offense is "way better" for him with QB Connor Shaw taking over full time with the departure of Stephen Garcia.
Shaw says the goal is to improve on last year's school-record 11 wins. The 6-1 junior says he idolizes Drew Brees and hopes to meet the Saints Super Bowl MVP one day.
Spurrier says hiring former LSU Special Teams Coordinator Joe Robinson should improve his team significantly, but joked that "winning a national championship is easier than winning an SEC title," quipping that Nick Saban has two national titles in five years, but only one in the SEC.
