I-Team Follow-up: Construction resumes for EBR Fire Station

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

About 18 months after construction work was stopped because the contractor backed out, crews are back at work at an East Baton Rouge Fire Station at the corner of Choctaw and Acadian.

Worked had stopped when the former contractor, Quadrants Inc., backed out in December 2010, leaving sub-contractors unpaid.

A spokesman for the Department of Public says Quadrants settled with the City-Parish. Blount General Contractors now has the job.

Workers have replaced the roof and are now installing utilities and paving a drive for the fire trucks.

The fire station is set to be finished by November 26, 2012.
