FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) -
A Fourth of July cookout at Remke Bigg's will benefit the family of a murdered Ft. Mitchell woman.
Michelle Mockbee was found dead outside her place of employment, Thermo Fisher Scientific in Florence, in late May.
Remke Bigg's turned its annual Fourth of July cookout into a fundraiser for Mockbee's two young daughters and her husband. These funds will be used to help with the care and education of the children.
"When something as tragic as this happens within our community, it's important that we all rally to support those who have been affected," Remke Bigg's community relations director Connie Flynn said. "Remke Bigg's understands the importance of spearheading this fundraiser and we look forward to celebrating the Fourth of July and collecting for a great cause at the same time."
Remke Bigg's held their annual grill out at 2501 Dixie Highway in Ft. Mitchell. Festivities began at 11:30 a.m. followed by the Ft. Mitchell Parade at 12:30 p.m. Remke Bigg's will be serving up the traditional hot dogs, chips and drinks.
