FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a chase that ended in a crash in Springdale early Wednesday morning.
A Trooper stopped Gerry Branner, 21, for driving without headlights on around 2:30 a.m. on State Route 4 near Mulhauser in Fairfield. Branner fled the scene as soon as the Trooper approached the car. He attempted to take the I-275 westbound ramp but lost control and crashed into a light pole. The vehicle caught fire.
Branner was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are investigating and say charges are pending.
