EBRSO searching for bank robbery suspect

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is searching for a man they say robbed a bank just before 12:30 p.m. Friday.

The robbery happened at the MidSouth Bank at the corner of Industriplex and Siegen Lane.

According to reports a man entered the front door and presented a bank employee with a note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount, he fled on foot south on Siegen Lane.

He is described as a white male, approximately 5'8 to 5'9, in his late 40's wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

Deputies are searching the area near Bethany Baptist Church.

The bank is temporarily closed. There is no word on what time it will reopen today.
