Some angry union workers with Capital Area Transit System (CATS) gathered at Baton Rouge City Hall to protest what they call unfair hiring practices at the bus operations building.

About two dozen protesters took to the streets Monday morning, aiming to draw attention to the issue.

"We have been without a contract since 2009 and we feel as though that it's imperative that this issue should be addressed, as far as that with our union contract and we should be compensated for it," said Ulysses Walker, ATV executive board member.

The group said it has not worked under a contract for the past three years and employees are not happy about it.
