DOTD headquarters closes due to lack of water

Information from DOTD

BATON ROUGE, LA - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development's (DOTD) headquarters building in Baton Rouge will be closed due to a lack of water service.

Water to the building was shut off Monday morning after a vehicle struck a fire hydrant on Sorrel Avenue.

Without water service, DOTD's headquarters building has no air conditioning, fire protection or restroom capabilities.

Essential services will continue to be provided remotely and necessary meetings will be held at DOTD's LTRC building on LSU campus.

Additionally, DOTD's Traffic Management Center has relocated to Harding Boulevard and its Truck Permits section will remain operational.

DOTD's district regional offices remain unaffected by the closure and are maintaining normal business hours.

DOTD headquarters will reopen on Tuesday, June 19.
