SLAUGHTER, LA (WAFB) - The charges against a suspected drunk driver have been upgraded again after a seventh victim died following a horrific crash on May 30.

District Attorney Sam D'Aquilla said Brett Gerald, 30, of Greensburg now faces seven counts of vehicular homicide.

Gerald will be arraigned on all charges Tuesday morning.

He will appear before Judge William Carmichael at the East Feliciana Parish Courthouse in Clinton at 9:30 a.m.

Rogerick Johnson, 13, was the last surviving victim that was in the car hit by a truck in Slaughter nearly two weeks ago.

He died Sunday afternoon. The family said he was taken off life support around 3:15 p.m.

Investigators believe Gerald was out celebrating his 30th birthday and was under the influence of alcohol.

The Louisiana State Police said Gerald's blood alcohol content was .15g percent, which is nearly twice the legal limit of .08g percent.
