Lady Tigers bow out of WCWS

Defending NCAA champion Arizona State got a three run home run from Alix Johnson in the third inning off LSU All-American Rachele Fico and never looked back in beating the Lady Tigers 6-0 in Saturday's second elimination game at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.  Sun Devils pitcher Hillary Bach fired a four-hit shutout against LSU, which had trouble scoring runs all season, despite making the school's first trip to the WCWS since 2004. Beth Torina's first season with the Lady Tigers ended with a 40-25 record and no worse than a sixth place finish nationally. The Lady Tigers finished 1-2 in the eight team tournament, while Tennessee and South Florida were both 0-2.
