HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - A 45-year-old woman was arrested early Thursday morning in the death of her husband. Police said she told them she killed him.
The Hammond Police Department said Lisa Williams is charged with murder in the death of Jermaine Williams, 38.
Police said he had an apparent stab wound to the chest.
Investigators said they believe Williams died Wednesday around 6 p.m.
They were called to the home in the 600 block of West Coleman Street in Hammond just before 1 a.m.
Officers said Lisa Williams admitted to killing her husband.
They added she told them she and her husband had been arguing all night before it got violent.
Detectives said Jermaine Williams was found lying on the floor in the couple's bedroom.
They reported finding alcohol in the bedroom.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Lisa Williams was booked into the Hammond Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.
She will be transferred to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
