LSU softball team headed to College Station

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The LSU softball team is headed to College Station for the second consecutive season for NCAA 2012 Regional play.

The Tigers were knocked out the NCAA 2011 Regional by Texas A&M.

LSU will open up regional play with Texas State out of the Southland Conference.

Texas A&M will take on Bethune-Cookman.

Times and dates for the games are to be announced.

In Beth Torina's first season as the LSU Tigers softball coach, she led the Tigers to a 34-22 record.

They went 15-13 SEC.

They were knocked out the first round of the SEC Tournament by the Florida Gators.
