Defense rests in murder trial without calling witnesses

Minutes after the prosecution rested their case, the defense also rested without calling a single witness in the murder trial of Torence Hatch, also known as Lil Boosie. Hatch is accused of hiring Michael Louding to kill Terry Boyd in 2009. Closing arguments are expected to start tomorrow. WAFB's Tyana Williams was in the courtroom and will have all of the details tonight on 9news at 5 and 6.

LSU Chancellor Mike Martin has a big decision to make. Today he was selected as a finalist in the search for Colorado State University's new Chancellor. Martin tells WAFB's Kelsey Davis that this will be quite a tough choice to make. Hear more of what he had to say on 9News at 5 and 6.

The debate over just how to handle the State's $25 billion budget has stalled in the House of Representatives. It appears there is some legislative push back going on over how to fill the gaps in the budget. WAFB's Capitol Correspondent Jim Shannon has the latest on 9News at 5 and 6.
