Leigh Jennings of Aurora, Ind. was murdered last month and police have not publicly named any suspects in the case. But Wednesday, the Boone County Commonwealth Attorney publicly linked 58-year-old Charles Stephenson of Walton, Ky with the murder.
"At this point the Commonwealth has indicated to the court that Mr. Stephenson is confirmed to be the last person to see Ms. Jennings alive," said Linda Tally-Smith.
Boone County Commonwealth Attorney Linda Tally-Smith made the disclosure after Stephenson's attorney requested a reduction in bond.
Jennings' ex-husband was in the courtroom on Wednesday, he says he wants justice for whoever is responsible for Leigh's death.
"I'm happy with the prosecutor, it sounded like they're trying to do the best job they can with what they have," said Warren Siebe, Jennings' ex-husband. "We are not pointing the finger at anyone right now."
Stephenson is currently being held in jail on a $50,000 bond on tampering with evidence and drug trafficking charges. On Wednesday, the judge kept his bond at $50,000.
Stephenson is also the nephew of Bill and Peggy Stephenson who were murdered last year in Florence, Ky. No arrests have been made in the case.
