BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU junior outfielder Raph Rhymes returns to practice after suffering a mild concussion last Friday at Florida.
Practicing on Thursday was the most Rhymes did all week, running the bases and taking full swing from live pitching. LSU head coach Paul Mainieri said Rhymes is day-to-day and he will be reevaluated before they open up a game series with Alabama.
Rhymes said this is the best he has felt all week and has no problem being the designated hitter if he can not play in the field. On the season, Rhymes is batting .465 (leads SEC) with 1 home run, and 34 RBI.
The Tigers first game with the Crimson Tide is set for Friday 7:00 p.m. from Alex Box Stadium.
