Gerald Dr. shootout suspect extradited

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A suspect in a deadly shootout on Gerald Dr. has been returned to Baton Rouge.

Police say Marcus Heard, 40, was arrested last month in Sacramento, CA.

According to reports, Marcus Heard, Jermaine Clark and Robert Heard tried to rob John Freeman when they went to his home to sell him drugs on January 14th.

Officers say a 16-year-old in the home saw what was happening and fired at the men, leading to more guns being drawn.

Robert Heard was killed in the shootout.  Clark suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Clark has been charged with second degree murder and armed robbery.

Marcus Heard has been charged with second degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and armed robbery.
