Senate passes bill to get rid of teacher tenure

Despite heavy objection from many educators, the State Senate this afternoon passed a major part of the Governor's Education Plan. They've voted to do away with the statewide teacher pay scale and make it harder for teachers to get job protection known as tenure. The issue now heads to the House for debate.
