L'Auberge Baton Rouge tops off hotel

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Marking a major milestone for L'Auberge Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel, the structural frame of the hotel was completed Friday. As one of the final hurdles toward completion, the topping off of the 12-story hotel is a celebrated construction event.

"The topping off of the hotel is a highly anticipated construction milestone and demonstrates how much closer we are to our grand opening this summer," Mickey Parenton, Vice President and General Manager of L'Auberge Baton Rouge, said. "Thanks to our hardworking construction team, we are able to celebrate this momentous achievement today."

The casino portion of L'Auberge Baton Rouge was topped off in November of 2011. The construction of the $368 million hotel and casino began in May of 2010. Construction on the hotel and casino is expected to be completed this summer and an anticipated opening by Labor Day.

When it opens in 2012, L'Auberge Baton Rouge will feature an expansive single-level, 74,000 square foot casino; nearly 1,500 slot machines; 50 table games, including a poker room; a 12-story hotel with 206 guest rooms and a rooftop pool; three dining outlets; a unique casino bar with breathtaking views of the Mississippi River; 2,400 total parking spaces, including 800 in a covered parking garage; a multi-purpose event center with concert seating for up to 1,600 people or banquet seating for up to 800 people; and outdoor festival grounds with capacity for up to 2,500.
