BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office was called to a bank robbery at the Whitney Bank in the 11000 block of Industriplex on Wednesday morning, just before Noon during severe weather.
According to reports, a man entered the bank wearing a blue long-sleeve button up shirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, a black and gold Mardi Gras mask, a black ball cap, gardening gloves and several bandanas covering his neck.
According to police, the man, armed with a handgun, jumped over the teller counter and demanded money. He verbally instructed other employees to a corner in the bank.
There were no patrons in the bank at the time. The robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
EBRSO units setup a perimeter in the area and K-9 police dogs are also attempting to track the suspect. There were no injuries in the robbery.
