HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - A Hammond, LA man is now behind bars after breaking into an apartment and falling asleep, in his underwear, on the couch.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards says the man, Johnny Lee Williams, 33, was "fast asleep on the couch" of an unsuspecting resident. The resident, armed with a pistol, stated that she could have shot the man.
The woman called police around 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning after she found Williams on her couch.
Reports say she demanded he leave at once, but Williams refused. Another occupant in the residence had to physically throw the man out of the apartment, according to reports.
Deputies arrived on the scene as Williams was trying to get into another nearby apartment.
He was ordered to the ground and was placed in custody. He has been charged with unauthorized entry and attempted un authorized entry of an inhibited dwelling.
