Classes to resume after scabies scare

JACKSON, LA (WAFB) - Students in East Feliciana will be returning to classes Tuesday after a scabies outbreak last week.

Maintenance crews spent the weekend disinfecting Jackson Elementary and East Feliciana High School.

13 kids at Jackson Elementary and another three at the high school were diagnosed with scabies.

The outbreak pushed back state-mandated testing at the two schools.  New testing dates have not been announced.

Students at East Feliciana Middle School will take their exams as scheduled on Tuesday, March 20th.
