BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - According to Baton Rouge Police, a mother of three children tried to leave them at Fire Station No. 13 on Sharp Road Saturday.
Jennifer Coleman, 25, was approached by a firefighter as she was trying to drop off her kids stating she did not want them anymore.
Police say that the woman told them the children's father did not want them either.
Louisiana is a safe haven state but the safe haven law only pertains to newborns under 31 days old.
Coleman was given a misdemeanor summons for Attempted Criminal Abandonment. The children will likely be placed with child protective services.
