BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A 16-year-old faces a gun charge after a pellet gun was found at a Baton Rouge school Thursday morning.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the pellet gun was discovered after a fight between three students at the Baton Rouge Acceleration Academy on Cadillac Street.
Deputies said the principal of the school called security at the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board a little after 7 a.m. to report the incident.
Investigators said the gun fell out of one of the student's pants during the fight.
They added he didn't give a reason for having the pellet gun or make any threats.
He was charged with illegal carrying of a handgun on a school campus and disturbing the peace by fistic encounter.
He will be booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
Authorities said the other two students involved in the fight were also charged with disturbing the peace by fistic encounter.
