KAUFMAN COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
Two East Texas women are behind bars on drug charges after being pulled over in Kaufman County.
Pat Laney, public information officer with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, said deputies stopped a 2012 Maroon Jeep yesterday afternoon on I-20 near mile marker 510.
The two women inside allowed the deputy to search the vehicle. During the search, the deputy found drug paraphernalia and several prescription bottles with pills that were not the prescriptions labeled on the bottles.
Deputies also found a bag of pills inside the vehicle.
Pamela Macheal Alford, 46, of Flint and Alisha Gene Allen, 36, of Bullard were both arrested.
Alford was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Allen was charged with possession of marijuana and possession or delivery of drug paraphernalia.
Both women were taken to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center. Alford is being held on $225,000 bond and Allen is being held on $6,500 bond.
