INDEPENDENCE, LA (WAFB) - A wanted sex offender originally from Mississippi was arrested in Louisiana for failing to register.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said Richard Evans, 46, of Independence was taken into custody Friday.
Deputies said they received a tip on where Evans could be found and they located him at a home in Independence.
Evans was charged with the following:
Felony warrants from Hinds County, MS for failure to register as a sex offender
Probation and parole violation
Warrant from TPSO for failure to appear for failure to register
The sheriff's office said its Sex Offender Compliance Unit assisted the US Marshal's Office with apprehending Evans.
