High school student arrested after police find loaded gun, drugs

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A McKinley High School 10th grader has been arrested after a deputy with the Baton Rouge School Drug Task Force found a loaded gun and drugs in his possession.

According to East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, an anonymous student reported a 10th grader had a loaded gun.

The incident happened at 1 p.m. Monday. Reports say the 9mm handgun was found in Creshawn Odell's pocket along with a "small bag of marijuana." Odell is 17 years old.

He was taken out of class and was charged with possession of marijuana and illegally carrying a weapon on school property. He has been booked into Parish Prison.
