PONCHATOULA, LA (WAFB) -
A 20-year-old man was arrested on drug and weapon charges after what authorities believe was a drive-by shooting early Monday morning.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said Skye Davi of Ponchatoula was booked on the following charges:
Assault by drive-by shooting
Possession of firearm with controlled dangerous substance
Contributing to delinquency of a juvenile
Possession of Scheduled I marijuana
Sheriff Daniel Edwards said deputies responded to a shooting on Mitchell Road in Ponchatoula and were given a description of the vehicle involved.
Investigators pulled over Davi when they spotted his vehicle. There was a juvenile in the car.
The juvenile was also charged in the incident.
Deputies said they learned from the victims the shooting was the result of an ongoing fight over alleged stolen money from a few weeks ago.
They added the gun used in the shooting was found in Davi's vehicle, along with a small amount of marijuana.
Davi was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
At the time of his arrest, Davi had on a t-shirt that read, "I can't even ride down the street without being harassed by the police."
