WALKER, LA (WAFB) -

A Walker man was killed Monday afternoon when he was hit by a pickup on Walker North Road.

State Police say Ronald Farris, 55, was standing next to a Ford Expedition that was stopped in the southbound lane when a pickup hit the Expedition from behind, then hit Farris, continued through the ditch and hit a home.

The driver of the Expedition took off after the crash, which happened just north of Cane Market Rd.  Troopers suspect the SUV to have damage to the back bumper and the right rear tail light.

Farris was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.  No charges have been filed at this time.

If you have any information on this crash, call State Police at (225) 754-8500.
