BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
The son of a Baton Rouge Metro Councilman remains hospitalized in intensive care after he was shot in the chest Friday evening.
The victim was identified as Thomas Loupe, 15, son of Chandler Loupe.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said the victim was shot while sitting in a car on Mary Lou Drive in Baton Rouge as an apparent drug deal was taking place around 5:30 p.m.
The shooter is still on the loose.
"Whenever it hits home like this, our thoughts and prayers are with him," said Metro Councilman Trae Welch.
The teen celebrated his 16th birthday Sunday in the hospital.
At last check, he was listed in stable condition.
