BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

An Arizona man has been sentenced to just under two years in prison for failing to register as a sex offender.

Noel Carlson, 38, was initially convicted of attempted possession and distribution of child pornography in 1997 in Arizona.  He was sentenced to probation in that case.

In 2010, Carlson broke his probation by fleeing Arizona and moving to Louisiana.

Carlson was arrested in January 2011 in Baton Rouge.

Sex offenders are required to register as a sex offender within three days of moving to Louisiana.
