Police: Man shot in apartment complex parking lot

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man is expected to survive getting shot while two men tried to rob him Sunday night.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the 47-year-old victim was found in the parking lot of Sonic on South Sherwood Forest around 9:45 p.m.

Officers discovered him sitting in a car suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

Detectives said he was actually shot in the parking lot of the Eden Point Apartments.

The apartments are located in the 11500 block of Old Hammond Highway.

He told investigators he was shot after two men walked up and attempted to rob him.

He was taken to the hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The victim's name was not released.
