NEW ORLEANS, LA (WWL-TV) -
A man is dead after police say he jumped into action to stop a carjacking.
It happened in New Orleans early Wednesday morning in Algiers Point. New Orleans Police Officers say a woman was driving to work when a man tried to get into her car.
Police say Harry "Mike" Ainsworth, 44, was nearby when it happened and tried to intervene.
The suspect shot and killed Ainsworth and took off running. The woman is working with police to identify the shooter.
