BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The family of a man who died when he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle has set up a benefit fund to make sure his 5-year-old daughter is taken care of now that he is gone.

Relatives of Nathan Crowson, 30, have set up an account at E Federal Credit Union called Katherine Coburn Fund.

They said those who wish to help out can walk in and make donations.

At this point, E Federal Credit Union can only accept cash. The family is working with an attorney to set up a trust to allow check donations, but it will take a few days.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Crowson and a friend were riding bikes in the 6100 block of Perkins Road when they were hit from behind by a vehicle Saturday night.

Crowson was pronounced dead at the scene. His friend was taken to the hospital with injuries to his lower body.

Joseph Branch, 28, was arrested on second offense DWI and vehicular homicide charges.
