LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Mangled metal and toppled trees reveal the path of an EF-1 twister - a tornado that ripped the wall off an indoor tennis building.

Mary Doyal can still feel it. "I really thought our windows were going to pop out," she said.

Doyal discovered more scars of the storm when she awoke Wednesday morning.

"We really don't know the whole total of it yet. The tennis center is what I feel bad for because they just did a remodel."

Doyal's home is still standing. The same could be said for the Tennis Club at Springhurst.  Although, private lessons in one of the buildings will have to move to another court.

A sign asks customers for patience as the business expands. However, rebuilding is now in the owner's immediate plans. He declined a WAVE 3 interview.

The twister tore off sheet metal from one of the buildings facing east and scattered it for hundreds of yards.

The NWS storm survey team determined the EF-1 tornado touched down near the intersection of the Watterson Expressway and Brownsboro Road. It tracked northeast to near the Summit Shopping Plaza where it lifted from the ground.

For business and home owners, insurance and assessment begins.
