NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - The turnaround for the Superdome field crew was a quick one after the Saints game Saturday night, to get ready for the LSU Tigers to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide Monday night during the BCS Championship game.
As soon as the Saints beat the Lions, the field crew were hard at work.
More than 50 workers started the huge task of transforming the field. They started re-painting the field and taking down Saints banners to replace them with National Championship signs.
During the 48 hour span, two crews worked 12 hour shifts.
The most time consuming part of the process is painting the end zones and the middle of the field. Each painting gets two coats of paint.
