Suspect named in Wood Memorial drug investigation

OAKLAND CITY, IN (WFIE) -

Police have released the name of the suspect in this week's drug investigation at Wood Memorial High School.

Investigators say a warrant has been issued for 42-year-old Michael Shafer. Shafer is 6'2", 218 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.
He may be driving a black two-door Pontiac Grand Am.

Wednesday morning a school employee found the remnants of a one-pot meth lab inside the East Gibson School Corporation's main campus.

Officers do not believe meth was being made during school hours.

14 News have confirmed that Shafer is an employee of the school corporation.

If you know where Shafer may be Oakland City police ask that you give them a call or contact Indiana State Police.

    Since September, employees have been given three options:  Get the flu shot, get an approved religious or medical exemption, or leave Essentia. At least 50 people have lost their jobs thus far.
