Another dead dolphin was found Thursday, this one in Pascagoula. IMMS is waiting to find out its condition in order to determine whether to retrieve the body. This makes the sixth dolphin found within the last two months on the Gulf Coast.
Meanwhile, the only stranded dolphin found alive is doing much better. His name is Chance and he was found stranded on a cove in Alabama last Wednesday.
Initial test results show he has an infection and parasites. Other test results should come in over the next few days or weeks. They could help veterinarians figure out why so many dolphins have been washing up dead in Mississippi and Alabama.
