Two more dead dolphins were found washed ashore Sunday. A female under a year old was found in Gulfport. The second, a male also under a year old, was found in Pass Christian, according to the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies (IMMS).
This makes five dolphins found washed ashore along the Mississippi-Alabama area within the last week.
IMMS director Moby Solangi said it's very unusual to find them washing up during this time of year.
IMMS has taken samples to determine the cause of death. The bodies were disposed of due to decomposition.
To report a stranding call the IMMS at 1- 888-SOS-DOLPHIN (888-767-3657).
