Despite high prices, tickets to LSU-'Bama going fast

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - With only a few days to go until what some people are calling the biggest football game in a long time, fans are scrambling to get some of those coveted tickets.

Some of the Tiger faithful say no amount of money is too much to see what they call the real national championship game.

"This is it. They can have a BCS National Championship after this, if they want to," says Matthew Peterson.

Tickets for the LSU-Alabama game are getting harder and harder to come by.

Face value for the tickets is $70, but websites like StubHub are asking anywhere from $300 to $6,000 per ticket.

Peterson says it's worth it, and he would take out a loan to witness the historic game.

"If I had a chance to go to the game. If I didn't have a party planned at the house...uh, $3000, 3000's a little steep," said Peterson. "And I say a little steep. $1500, no question."

David Wascom agrees that this game is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  He's getting geared up for the big game, but he's not taking out a loan.

"Fortunately I already have tickets," said Wascom.  "They are in high - in NN, so it doesn't matter.  I'll be in the stadium, which is all that matters."

Cecil Williams could have been one of the lucky people inside the stadium too, but he decided to let his son take his spot.

"I turned the tickets over to he and his best buddy. They'll be out there having a lot of fun, and I'll be home watching it on TV," said Williams.  "That's what fathers do to their kids."
