BATON ROUGE, La.—BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to a very special party – a pumpkin party for the animals! Last year visitors saw a tiger tear open a pumpkin, otters swim with their pumpkin and a very hungry, 400 pound tortoise devour its pumpkin. Don't miss the fun Saturday, October 29, and Sunday, October 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular Zoo admission applies. Visit brzoo.org for a detailed itinerary for both days.
This weekend, our animals will be enjoying classic fall activities like bobbing for apples or "carving" pumpkins. For some animals, the pumpkin is the treat; for others, we included their favorite foods inside, so they must dig to find them! It's a great day to see what the keepers do on a daily basis to give every animal exercise, stimulation and a special treat.
