BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The nine candidates challenging Gov. Bobby Jindal for his office have agreed to participate in a gubernatorial debate scheduled for next week, but Jindal has decided to skip it.
When asked about the debate, Jindal said he knew nothing about it.
His spokesman said the governor's office turned down the invitation because Jindal will only participate in debates that are televised statewide and there are no plans to air the Oct. 12 debate.
The event is sponsored by the Louisiana Association of Educators and several other education organizations.
