BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A Baton Rouge rapper facing murder charges was back in court Friday in connection with unrelated drug charges.
Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, is accused of trying to get codeine syrup into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.
Lil Boosie appeared for an arraignment hearing for charges of conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution and inciting a felony.
The charges were filed by the Louisiana State Police.
Two other men also face charges.
Investigators reported receiving information the trio was conspiring to smuggle the drugs into Angola, where Lil Boosie is incarcerated.
They added the other two men made arrangements through an undercover agent to have the codeine delivered to the rapper.
Lil Boosie is being held in Angola on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Terry Boyd.
